A Halloween Poem

Spooky Scare

by Savannah Salitsky

Halloween’s a spooky scare
Crazy costumes,
Wigs of hair.

Little kids go
Door to door
Craving candy
“I want more!”

Then they go
Up to the house
Where they hear
A shriek, a shout.

Cautiously,
They go and knock
They here the chiming
Of a clock.

The door creaks open
just a crack
They turn around
And start to run back

They feel a hand
Upon there legs
“Let us go!”
The children beg

They are taken
Into a room
They see a witch
On her broom

“Tasty children!”
The witch cackles
They see cauldron
With sparks that crackle

“Johnny,” says mother
“Your having a bad dream”
“Huh?” says Johnny
“It’s Halloween!”
