Did you know there is only a small group of people that take part in the Orange and Black News? This allows you to really work one on one with different teachers to expand your writing knowledge. Orange and Black News will allow you to expand on your opinions and thoughts about certain things and turn them into published articles. Three topics you really wanted to focus on are writing about things that you love and getting to talk about it, getting extra work and practice in for your school classes and talking/bringing awareness of what’s going on in your community.
For example, you could write an article about Wayland Middle School sports and get it published soon after you write it. You can get it published on the Orange and Black News website. You get to write about your love for sports (or anything really), this is how easy it is to get your words on paper and express your feelings. The teachers are a big help as well as allowing you to write about anything you would want.
Orange and Black News gives you the tools and opportunities to work with teachers and expand on your thinking. They turn the basic facts into small details that can get your writing to a whole different level. This can be useful in the future regarding school work, college essays and resumes, WSPN and so much more.
Orange and Black News is also so much more than boring writing and having extra work. Yes it might be extra work but it is so much more than that. You get to work on your writing skills. If you are in lit boots or just feel like you need more practice in general, this club is a great choice. The teachers are here to help you revise and refine your work to take your writing skills to the next level. They give you the tools to make your writing better and enhance your writing skills to become more knowledgeable for your age.
If there is something that you are working on and want to talk about, or if you are noticing something that is becoming a habit in your community that’s not physically or mentally harming but you want to bring awareness to it, come to us. Orange and Black News is a way to express your concerns, thoughts or telling the public about something that you want to bring to people’s attention anonymously or with your name. You can come to us if we have a box in the front of the school where you can drop your ideas or you can come to us after school from 3:15 to 4:00 every Monday in room 147.
