The Benefits of Playing Sports
The whistle blows! The Warriors are CHAMPS! The healthy, hard working kids are smiling ear to ear. Playing sports will benefit your health, give you fun experiences, and improve academics.
Arriving at our first topic, playing sports will benefit your health, both mentally and physically. When you play sports you tend to let go of your worries and feel good. The less stress you have, the better! You feel good while playing the sports and then at the conclusion of the game/practice you still feel good and have no worries; it’s a win win situation! Physically, playing sports keeps you in shape. No matter what sport you play! You will run up and down the field many times, I can guarantee you, your health will improve. Sports can also act as an alternative for using technology. Just by using less screens, your health will improve. Replace that with sports, you’ll be jacked! For example, the best lacrosse player in the world, Lyle Thompson, grew up with no power until the age of 11. Instead of using screens, Lyle was outside playing lacrosse. Look at him now!
Onward, everyone wants to have fun! Sports does just that! From creating lifelong friendships to winning championships, sports covers it all. Everyone wants friends and I have the answer for you- play sports! You will meet so many people that you wouldn’t have if you didn’t play sports. When you score a goal you will experience it with your teammates and that will make it even more special. Scoring goals is something everyone wants to do. You will always look back on your goals. Especially your first.
Gear is everywhere and you are running to get your goalie, you are the champion! Everyone remembers their championship wins. That is something you will cherish forever. The feeling is something you can’t describe; you need to do it, to feel it.
Playing sports will improve your academics because when you work hard and grind at a sport, that drive and grind will carry over to the classroom. Some people think that since you will be practicing sports, it will give you less time to do your homework. That is true, but with a little time management, you can fit everything in easily.
When you play sports everyone wants to win and be the best. Once you enter the classroom that doesn’t change; you will still want to be the best and will work hard to get it.
Not only will the “be the best” attitude carry over to the classroom, it will also carry over to life in general, you will always want to be the best and that makes you work hard for it. That will get you a long way.
Trust me, you want to play sports! If you try a sport and don’t like it, try a different one. There are a million different sports out there and I can guarantee you will find one you like. Health improvement, lifelong memories, and better academics are reasons you should play sports.
