Bengal Tiger

 

The Bengal Tiger is an amazing animal that lives throughout regions in Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, China, and Myanmar. The Bengal Tigers scientific name is “Panthera Tigris Tigris.” These animals can live up to 25 years old in the habitats in which they spread. Although, they average 8-10 years. These animals love living in forests. They are usually found in forests near a swamp.

 

The Bengal Tigers coat is usually orange with black stripes. Although, there are some that have white fur with black stripes. On the bottom side of their body (the stomach area) is usually white for the tiger with an orange coat at least.  

 

The Bengal tiger is a carnivore that mostly hunts large ungulates such as chital, sambar, nilgai, serow, and hunts less of water buffalo, and some takin. Being a carnivore means that they don’t eat plants.  They hunt animals usually 20 kg, or 45 pounds. They usually use their sight and hearing instead of their sense of smell, generally going for a strong strike to the neck.  They have the longest carnivore teeth in the field at approximately 4 inches long.
