Set up by the Community Service Club, there’s a huge shelf of shiny and new or bent and old books they call the Book Swap. You can take books that look interesting, but the best part is that you can KEEP THEM. The catch? Well, there is no catch! Not only that, but if you’ve got some books that you’ve bought long ago but don’t exactly enjoy, then the best place to put them is right in the Book Swap. Someone who might like that genre can take it and no amazing words will go to waste.
If you’re not moved by what I announced there (admit it, you are.), then here are a few of the admirable books that are found there:
First up is Harry Potter, and even though this sounds dreary to some of you, there is a brand new Cursed Child, all scenes, both parts, and a Harry Potter family tree and Harry Potter Timeline at the back, which is a must for all fans.
Next up is an extensive collection of Nancy Drew and Spy School, both about detectives, spies and secrets.
All the Fever Code books are there, too, as well as this really shiny paperback Paper Chains. But it gets better. There is a book about (drumroll please) Henry David Thoreau. And it’s not Walden… It’s a book called Being Henry David.
The Book Swap is right next to the 6th Grade Ramp, around the point where the mini-hall to the wellness center and hall that has cafeteria doors meet, and as people are taking books at 95 mph, soon all of the books I’ve mentioned will be gone. So act fast to get your books if you want them, and don’t be afraid to drop a few off at (drumroll please, yet again) the Book Swap!
