Case No.1
The Mystery of the Baked Potatoes
Reported by Anya Bayazitov
It was just an average Monday at the Wayland Public Library, cars passing by, sun shining down on the beautiful green grass- wait, is that a potato??? Cue the dramatic music! How would a potato get there? Is there some potato garden I don’t know about? No, it can’t be from a potato garden, because that’s not just any potato- that’s a baked potato!!! And that’s not the only potato- there are two! The plot thickens! Forget about raining tacos, it’s raining baked potatoes!
On January 14th, the library went onto facebook and posted about the mystery potatoes:
“One potato, two potatoes. Calling all sleuths! The front lawn of the library has been accumulating what appear to be perfectly lovely baked russets this week. One appeared early on Monday and yesterday we noticed a second. None of us can imagine how they got here…part of a rare potato migration? Kid on a bus revolted by a packed lunch? It’s such a dreary day, maybe one of you if not able to solve this mystery definitively, perhaps you can come up with a more fanciful explanation!”
Well, that wasn’t too much help. I just booked a visit with Sherlock Holmes, but until then, The Mystery of the Baked Potatoes will remain a mystery.
This is hilarious!!
