A little while back, I published an article on the Wayside Gift Drive. After the gift drive ended, the community service club was invited to wrap gifts for the tweens and teens living in residency at Wayside Youth & Family Services Network. I attended the gift wrapping and it was a great, feel good experience knowing how much of an impact I made on these kids.
For anyone who’s interested, here’s a breakdown of Wayside Gift Drive, by the numbers:
395 items were donated, worth $9,664.
12 students attended the wrapping, 6 of which came from the WMS sixth grade community service club.
93 kids received several of these gifts.
Thank you very much for all of the donations and to the amazing adults here who helped:
Ms. Mills – 6th Grade Community Service Club Leader
Colleen Morneweck – Coordinator of the Drive
Tim Hagen at Wayside – For Helping Us Sort Gifts and his Amazing Work at Wayside
As Tim writes,
“Your group is so amazing and does so much to reduce stress and anxiety for our kids who struggle during the holidays and the unknown it brings for them.”
